Yorkshire Aid Convoy

For the past 25 years, Yorkshire Aid Convoy has been a beacon of hope for people in need around the world. The charity is run entirely by unpaid volunteers who selflessly give their spare time to help others in need. Each convoy is a demanding 5,000 km round trip, but the volunteers’ commitment never wavers. They have undertaken an astonishing eight convoys to Ukraine in the last two years, delivering over 60 truckloads of critical supplies and equipment to the Ukrainian people.

When their convoys arrive in Ukraine, Yorkshire Aid Convoy personally delivers supplies directly to those who need it most – orphanages, schools, care homes, hospitals and more. The aid includes food, medical supplies, clothing, hygiene items, laptops, toys, hospital equipment, generators and so much more.

Since the war began, they have delivered over 5,000 laptops and PCs to help Ukrainian children continue their education after nearly 4,000 schools have been destroyed by bombardments. The computers are refurbished with new hard drives, Ukrainian keyboards and internet dongles so students can get online immediately from wherever they take shelter. Oa recent trip to Kyiv, Yorkshire Aid Convoy were honoured guests of the Ministry of Education, who wanted to thank them in person for the incredible impact they’ve had in Ukraine.

Relying on donations to deliver not only aid but hope to people in their darkest hours, we at Walker Movements wanted to do our part and lend Yorkshire Aid Convoy the trucks they needed to complete 2 convoys to Ukraine. Gary, from Yorkshire Aid Convoy said “the help Walker Movements provides has saved the charity tens of thousands in truck hire and transportation costs and we really see you guys as part of our team – we literally couldn’t do it without you!”
